Kickapoo State Park, Illinois

Kickapoo State Park,  is the ideal place to relax and enjoy the nature. The Park is a great option for you to go hiking, camping, paddling, fishing, biking, and adventure yourself on canoeing and kayaking. You can also explore the trails, have a picnic, and enjoy the beautiful scene around the park.

In winter, ice fishing and cross-country skiing are popular events among the park visitors. The Park is home to a wide variety of plants and animals, ensuring a fascinating natural landscape.

Visitors can rent buoys, canoes, kayaks, and paddle the Vermilion River, which runs through the center of Kickapooo State Park. The river is shallow and has calm waters which makes it easy to paddle. Some canoe and kayak tours can be done in 1 hour (8 or 13 miles). In some places the water stream can be a little more agitated and the ride a little more exciting.  The Park is ideal for your summer activities!

In addition to the rental services, Kickapoo Adventures, located within the park itself, sells fishing licenses and has a small shop where visitors can buy accessories and equipment to use during the activities – paddle boards, sunglasses, bikes, insect repellent, sunscreen, fishing lures, and much more.

The exuberant nature and the calm waters of Kickapoo State Park make the park a natural paradise in Illinois and an excellent place to enjoy with the whole family. It is worth checking!
